Rental car
A rental car is usually the easiest overall solution if you want to visit Etna, beaches and smaller towns. Collection may take time because of queues, contracts and vehicle checks. Confirm what happens after a delayed arrival and photograph the car before leaving.
Taxi or private transfer
A booked transfer is the easiest door-to-door journey. It costs more than public transport, but removes navigation, rental formalities and concern about closing times. Get the price, meeting point, flight monitoring and any child seat confirmed in writing.
Train and bus
The airport is connected to Fontanarossa station, but there may be a wait or change towards Giarre-Riposto. Check the timetable for your exact arrival day, especially the last service. Do not expect major-city frequency.
Rental car in practice
Book early in summer, especially for an automatic or a larger family car. Read the deposit, payment-card, insurance and fuel rules. At collection, ask how roadside assistance and motorway tolls work.
Catania Airport is about 35 minutes from Casa Parisi in ordinary traffic. The motorway toll is roughly €0.70. Parking at the apartment is behind a gate, so save the instructions on your phone.
The road to Giarre
Leave the airport towards the motorway and follow the direction for Messina, then take the Giarre exit. Allow extra time to find the rental car, leave the airport area and handle the first unfamiliar junctions. Download the address for offline use.
